School schedule
School is in session on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday during the following hours :
*Preschool: A flexible arrival time has been put in place allowing preschool children to be dropped off between 8:15 and 8:45 am. The lunch break begins at 12:05 pm. Afternoons classes are from 2:00 pm to 4:20 pm.
*Kindergarten/Primary School: 8:25 am to 12:15 pm and 2:00 pm to 4:20 pm.
Class structure
Every classroom consists of two grade levels. This is a wonderful opportunity for the children, who learn to be more autonomous. It is also an advantage for the teachers because they can instruct on a deeper level with a wider variety of material.
*Preschool (PS-MS): Mrs. Wipf, In addition, Mrs. Céline Gustin is a full-time teacher assistant,
*Kindergarten/First Grade (GS-CP): Mrs. Perier (3 days) and Mrs. Finance (1 day). In addition, Mrs. Margot De Azevedo is a full-time teacher assistant.
*First Grade/Second Grade (CE1): Mrs. Hosnas (2 days) and Mrs. Douchet (1day) and Mrs Salomon(1 day).
*Third Grade/Fourth Grade (CE2-CM1): Mrs. Rojas
*Fourth Grade/Fifth Grade (CM1-CM2): Mrs. Rogani-Boeuf
Reading and math specialist
Every Thursday, Mrs. Villevielle comes to Notre Dame to work with small groups of students. As a team, the teachers and Mrs. Villevielle put together personalized programs addressing certain difficulties that some children may encounter in the classroom setting.
Small group tutoring
The teachers put in place tutoring sessions when they notice that specific students are having difficulty grasping a particular concept. In accordance with the official curriculum, the teachers teach the same concepts that are taught in the classroom but use different methods and provide extra practice, helping the students succeed. These modules take place in three-week cycles.
